Understand Palestine.
One topic at a time.

Choose where to begin. Every lesson brings its visuals, explanations, speakers and sources together.

THE ATLAS — BEGIN WITH PLACE

A small geography.
Many layers of meaning.

Select a place for context. This orientation map shows selected locations; inspect the maps below inside this guide to examine specific historical arrangements.

GEOGRAPHIC ORIENTATIONOCHA OUTLINES
West Bank and Gaza outlines simplified from OCHA / HDX, CC BY 3.0 IGO. Coastline and neighboring labels are schematic. This is not a map of sovereignty, ownership, frontlines or settlements.

Gaza and the West Bank are geographically separate. Palestinian communities also live in Israel and throughout the diaspora.

READ THE LEGEND BEFORE THE COLOURS

Four maps. Four different questions.

Compare the meaning of each map before comparing its coloured areas. These views measure different political and legal arrangements.

THE HISTORY EXPLORER

Follow the line.
See what changed.

Fourteen illustrated milestones across five chapters. Read the sequence together, then expand a turning point to understand its consequences and the distinctions that matter.

HIGHLIGHT A THREAD

Follow the line from top to bottom. Milestones are ordered; distances do not represent elapsed time.

This is a selective orientation, not a complete history or a claim that today's outcome was inevitable. Open the wider UN chronology ↗
CONNECT THE STORY

Remember questions.
Not just dates.

These are reading frameworks: ways to follow recurring issues across time. The arrows connect questions, rather than claiming that one event made the next inevitable.

WHO IS WHO?

Keep institutions distinct.

Representation, administration, armed groups and humanitarian services play different roles.

PLO
Palestinian national representative organization and Oslo negotiating party.
Palestinian Authority
Interim self-government institution created through the Oslo process.
Hamas
Palestinian political and armed movement; took control of Gaza in 2007.
UNRWA
UN agency providing services to eligible Palestine refugees; it is not a government.

THE KNOWLEDGE LIBRARY

Learn the terrain.
Inspect the evidence.

Sourced modules connect history, society, institutions, law and current realities. Any live humanitarian figure is dated and linked to its report.

VOICES & PERSPECTIVES

Learn from people
doing the work.

This collection began with ten Malaysian and Palestinian scholars, organizers and advocates. Their documented work gives you distinct lenses; it is not a claim that any one voice represents all Palestinians.

Likely teaching areas are estimates from published work. Open a profile for the strongest study topics and supporting evidence. A confirmed session syllabus was not found.

UN, court, humanitarian, UNESCO and World Bank records anchor the learning modules. Published work and organizational pages establish the profiles; advocacy sources are labeled.

How this guide was made

Palestine Specialist is an independent learning aid. It separates official records, reported conditions, speaker analysis and advocacy positions. The people collection originated in research for MyCARE's TOPS 2026 event, but the core library is organized by topic for continuing study. Profiles describe documented public work; proposed reading paths are editorial suggestions. Legal cases are distinguished from final judgments, and current statistics are tied to report dates. Last editorial review: 7 October 2026.
